Last Thursday, I drove down to Ipoh for the first time all by myself! Mainly to spend some quality time with my other half :)
I arrived at his house in the evening and found him already waiting for me outside. After putting my stuff, we went to Tesco to buy some groceries. That night, he made us a lovely dinner of spaghetti bolognese and mushroom soup.
After dinner, we decided to go to Ipoh Parade which is the so-called one of the best shopping complexes in Ipoh. I've actually been there once, briefly, a few years back.
Oh yeah, guess what?? We went all the way there only to find that most of the shops were already starting to close (fyi, it was only 8.30pm!). And there were only 3 movies showing in their GSC! To be honest, their GSC is damn small and not very well-maintained lor..
Anyway, we wandered around the mall for a while and left at 9.30pm because all the shops were already closed then. Seriously!! =.= We were reluctant to head home as it was still early, so we stopped at McDonald's to grab a quick bite. Hehehe.
The next day, I had lunch with him and his colleague at Family Style Restaurant before heading towards Lumut. What a bumpy road trip! Thanks to his Nissan Frontier 4WD and the somewhat bumpy road surface along the way. Lol. But I enjoyed the ride la :p
We went to check out Marina Island Pangkor, one of Malaysia's premier man-made islands which you wouldn't want to miss for a short vacation with your loved ones! Well, that pretty much wraps up what happened on my Friday afternoon.
It was pouring heavily by the time we got home. So we got ourselves freshen up and had our dinner at home, whole-heartedly prepared by his grandmother. Hehe! We went to Kinta City Shopping Centre (also known as Jusco Ipoh), another great shopping destination within the city aside from Ipoh Parade.
Oh well, if you ask me, there was really nothing special about the mall. But at least it's way better as compared to Ipoh Parade. The shops at Kinta City feature more high-end brands like MNG, GUESS, FOSSIL, ESPRIT, Carlo Rino, etc. Okay, I know it's nothing interesting. We were there just to kill some time off. Lol.
In my personal opinion, Ipoh may not be a city for shoppers, but it is definitely an awesome place for good food! :)
P.S. I have yet to try the Tau Fu Fah (soybean curd) at the stall named Kei Foong (Funny Mountain).
P.P.S. I want to go to the night market at Ipoh Garden. So sad I missed it!
Hello darling, please take note of the above-mentioned. *ahem*
Tell you what, my trip down to KL will be continued on my next post, otherwise this post is going to be very lengthy. Plus I'm not planning to upload any pics! I only snapped very few pics using my BB and I couldn't be bothered to transfer them to my comp.
I can't believe how much I've been neglecting my camera. I need to bring it back into action! Lol.
To be continued...
